Dangerous Musicologist?

Read this letter about a musicologist who has been denied entry back to the US. Note that she had been living among us, teaching at Mills College. Also note that she is a citizen of that most dangerous of countries, the United Kingdom. And finally note that, in the interest of transparent justice, she has not been given an explanation in the eight months since she was turned back at the San Francisco airport. I applaud our highly politicized government for keeping a specialist in Indian vocal music and Welsh folk music (the horror!) from terrorizing our shores with long ragas and incomprehensible languages. Be sure to write the State Department to thank them for this courageous decision:

Update: See Jonathan Bellman's better informed take on the situation. I had no idea that howling thirds were at stake!
