I've been avoiding political discussion on this blog recently, mostly to keep my own sanity. But I must go on record, like Sean Carroll and many others in the blogosphere, with my disgust at the passage of the senate bill that affirms the Executive branch's authority to label anyone as an enemy combatant and imprison that person with no recourse for legal defense.
