Ballad to friendship

I'm listening to Billy Joel's "James" from Turnstiles. It is about his childhood friend who he hasn't seen for several years. The music is a 70's style ballad, a style that is usually used for romantic lyrics. Is anyone aware of other ballads devoted to platonic friendship?

The first one that pops into my head is "Goodbye Earl" by the Dixie Chicks... maybe this says something about me. I don't know :)

Oh, and "You've Got a Friend in Me" by Randy Newman.

"He Was a Friend of Mine" -- Bob Dylan.

Although that's kind of dark.

Cat, those aren't slow ballads, so not the same. The Dylan example kind of works, but I guess what is striking about "James" is that the music is so romantic.
