The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, Millennium Park presents the incomparable Chicago-based performer Andrew Bird on Wednesday, September 3, at 6:30 pm at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. A violin virtuoso, Bird is also a multi-instrumentalist who adds singing and whistling to his sonic textures and imaginative lyrics. The concert opens with the Afro-beat sounds of Chicagos own Occidental Brothers Dance Band International. The concert is free and open to the public.
Here is a video of Andrew doing his thing. He has been described as "post rock" and uses looping of live recordings to layer his music.
