Oh man, I went to high school with Carrie. She's terrifically talented (and was fabulous in our high school musicals) and a very nice person too. Glad to hear she's doing well!
Based on liking Stephen Schwartz, have you tried "Children of Eden"? It's uniformly very good, has some wonderful songs on it, pretty creative.
DePauw students did a production of "Children of Eden" two years ago, it was good.
