The aftermath
Eric has put up a post with his quick reactions to the concert I mentioned yesterday. There are also over 20 comments by students and faculty who were at the concert. And yes, those were my kids who were "quite distracting."
Well, I've watched the video now and understand a lot better what was going on. There were a lot of places where I had assumed it must have been les enfants Spiegelberg who were evoking the audience response, but it turns out to have been uninhibited music students. The images of you dancing with your children, Scott, will stay with me forever--what a beautiful thing to see the interaction and the joy in being together. And our "most senior" colleague, whom I expected would not like the atmospere at all, loved it. She specifically mentioned how wonderful it was seeing your kids moving and enjoying themselves. I'm still sorting the whole thing out for myself, but that's something I liked for sure.
